A Friday full of action and plot twists at the Circuito Internazionale Napoli, host of the final round of the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy.

On the track located just a few kilometers from Naples, 7 qualifying sessions and 6 heats shaped today’s program.

Marc Quessada (MKC Motorsport) took pole in the Italian Euro Cup Mini MAX, while the two “outsiders” Bran Vanderveken (Bouvin Power) and Tino Sidler (Dan Holland Racing) claimed pole position in Junior MAX and Senior MAX. Sem Knopjes (DAEMS Racing) topped DD2, while Nicolas Picot (Privateer) leads the standings in DD2 Masters.

The Cypriot Quessada is the first RMCET poleman at the Circuito Internazionale Napoli. The MKC Motorsport driver edged out British competitor Tom Read (Strawberry Racing), fastest in Group 2 ahead of Emerson Macandrew-Uren (Dan Holland Racing), who struck back in the first heat.

Bran Vanderveken led a Bouvin Power one-two, as the Belgian team secured pole in both groups with Boaz Maximov topping Group 2. Albert Friend (Dan Holland Racing) positioned himself as a strong contender by defeating the poleman in the first heat; in the second, it was a KR Sport sweep with Mazinas Majus ahead of Eva Morris and Kai Clarke.

Dan Holland Racing’s Tino Sidler set the fastest lap. Cian Geraghty (Strawberry Racing) was 2nd, followed by championship leader Sean Butcher (KR Sport). Sidler and Butcher then split victories in the afternoon’s two heats.

It was a happy day for Jan Daems, as Dutch driver Knopjes edged Bende Szabo by 9 thousandths and Mika van de Pavert (SP Motorsport) by 20 thousandths. In the only manche of the day, van de Pavert made the decisive move to take victory. In Masters it was another domination day for Nicolas Picot, who topped both qualifying and the heat (finishing 6th overall).

Tomorrow’s schedule will be fully dedicated to the heats.
