CHAMPIONSHIP OUTLOOK AFTER WACKERSDORF

START SENIOR MAX

The Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy round in Wackersdorf wasn’t just a showcase of thrilling racing—it also served as a crucial litmus test for understanding the true competitive balance shaping the 2025 season.

While Cremona and Viterbo were brand-new circuits for drivers and teams alike, where adaptability played a decisive role, Wackersdorf’s Prokart Raceland is familiar ground for many. That familiarity delivered the first real indications of what we can expect from this year’s championship battles.

Alfie Mair (SFR Motorsport) clinched victory in the German Cup Mini MAX category. Although this standalone event didn’t count toward the championship standings, it did earn him the first ticket to the 2025 Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals.

Cole Denholm (Dan Holland Racing) played his cards perfectly, saving his strongest performances for Sunday. A prefinal and final sweep gave him not only the round win but also the lead in the championship, edging ahead of teammate Jacob Ashcroft by four points. Despite narrowly missing the podium, Boaz Maximov (Bouvin Power) holds firm in third with 154 points.

1. Cole Denholm 159
2. Jacob Ashcroft 155
3. Boaz Maximov 154

Although the final classification remains under review, Lewis Gilbert (Kraft Motorsport) currently leads the Senior MAX standings. A nearly flawless Sunday sees the Brit sitting at 162 points, two ahead of Sean Butcher (KR Sport) on 160. Cameron Nelson trails slightly behind at 149.

In DD2 and DD2 Masters, Jakub Bezel (Kraft Motorsport) and the ever-consistent Nicolas Picot (Privateer) are the ones to beat. Bezel made his move on Saturday with a dominant performance, while Picot capitalized on his vast experience Sunday, especially after the retirement of overall poleman Fabian Bock (Kraft Motorsport), to pull ahead in the Masters category.

2. Tommie van der Struijs 154
3. Manuel Tenschert 154
